Jo Vernaillen, better known as Lowdjo, has been spinning tunes for 15 years under various alter egos. His eclectic taste makes him one of the most diverse DJs in Belgium. Whether he’s playing for kids, rocking a festival crowd, or dropping hardcore beats in an underground squat, Lowdjo leaves every audience astonished.

Lowdjo has a penchant for the bizarre, obscure, and experimental. He takes listeners on a journey with his ethnic beats extraordinaire, seamlessly blending contemporary electronics. His sets explore the globe’s weird musical heritage.

Over the years, Lowdjo has played in over 10 countries across two continents. He’s shared stages with legends like Einstürzende Neubauten, Pole, Emir Kusturica & his No Smoking Orchestra, Dj Rupture, The Herbaliser, Modeselektor, and more.

Lowdjo releases music through his Belgian label Comphusion and London’s Discrepant label (alongside Gonçalo Cardoso). Together, they create an ingenious mishmash of (un)popular music, deconstructing rigid folk and world music structures.
